Tucson City Council Members Endorse Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick for Arizona’s Second Congressional District

(Tucson, AZ) – Today, Tucson City Council leaders announced their endorsement of Ann Kirkpatrick to represent Arizona’s Second Congressional District.

“Ann Kirkpatrick fights for working families and is pro-worker, pro-immigrant, and pro-woman! She has the experience and diligence necessary to provide key representation to Arizonans, and most importantly, the ability to get things done. That’s why I’m happy to endorse her for re-election this November,” said Council Member Santa Cruz of Ward 1.

“Congresswoman Kirkpatrick understands the needs of Southern Arizona and is the best qualified person to represent us in Washington,” said Council Member Paul Cunningham of Ward 2. “Her understanding of Southern Arizona is paralleled only by her understanding of Washington and that is why I am proud to endorse her for re-election in 2020. I hope you will join me in supporting her!”

Paul Durham, Ward 3 Council Member remarked, “Ann Kirkpatrick is a leader for Southern Arizona. From her commitment to standing up for the LGBTQ+ community to advocating for our community with her position on the Appropriations Committee, I am proud to endorse her for re-election in 2020.”

“I have seen Ann Kirkpatrick fighting for Arizona families for years,” said Nikki Lee, the Council Member for Ward 4. “Her commitment to supporting our veterans and all of Southern Arizonans is unparalleled, and I am proud to endorse her for re-election in 2020.”

“Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick has worked diligently to keep Southern Arizona’s Post Office and Processing Center open and for our veterans,” said Council Member Richard Fimbres of Ward 5. “Ann is a true leader and advocate for our community and deserves another term.”

Council Member Steve Kozachik of Ward 6 added, “Since before her election I’ve worked alongside Congresswoman Kirkpatrick on issues of importance to my constituents. Those range from gun control to water security and economic development. In each case Ann has been willing to engage and work to further the interests of this community. I’m happy to give her my full support.”

“Local leaders, like those who serve Tucson through the City Council, do incredible work each and every day to make Tucson the great community that it is,” said Rep. Kirkpatrick. “I am grateful for the Council Members’ endorsements and am looking forward to working alongside them to advocate for the people of Southern Arizona.”
