Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick Lands Huge Endorsement from Vice President Joe Biden for Arizona’s Second Congressional District

(Tucson, A.Z.) – Today, Vice President Joe Biden endorsed Ann Kirkpatrick for reelection to Arizona’s Second Congressional District seat.

“Ann Kirkpatrick has been a champion for working families. Ann knows how to work across the aisle and deliver meaningful results for Arizona. And, she’s delivered on her promises to Arizona’s working families. Ann has fought to protect those with pre-existing conditions, and she is a strong defender of Social Security and Medicare. Ann Kirkpatrick puts people before politics — and she is a powerful voice for Arizonans in Congress,” said Vice President Biden.

Joe Biden is running for President to restore the soul of the nation, rebuild the middle class, and unite the country. As Vice President, he was instrumental in passing the Affordable Care Act, which ensures that 2.8 million Arizonans with pre-existing conditions cannot be denied from obtaining health care coverage.

“I am so honored to have Vice President Biden’s endorsement. He has proved time and time again that as President, he will lead the country with grace, honesty, and humility. He was a fantastic leader to work with during the Obama years, and I look forward to working with him again very soon,” said Rep. Kirkpatrick.

Kirkpatrick was born and raised in rural Arizona. She grew up on an Apache reservation in the White Mountains, and moved to Tucson to get her college education and start her family. She has performed a lifetime of service for Arizona families, working as a prosecutor in the Pima County Attorney’s office, and as a legislator, before serving in Congress. Ann Kirkpatrick has defended women’s reproductive rights in rural areas where families’ health services are often neglected. She has received continued support from women’s groups during her previous time in the House, and has been a key figure in the fight to protect health care funding from the GOP’s dangerous attacks.
