Kirkpatrick releases third ad with Hon. Ron Barber, gun violence survivor

July 19, 2018 (Tucson) AZ – Today, Democrat Ann Kirkpatrick released her campaign’s third TV ad, this one features former Congressman Ron Barber and his wife Nancy Barber. The ad, entitled “Daylight” references the 2011 shooting in Tucson. “Daylight” emphasizes that Arizona voters can count on Ann Kirkpatrick to be a fierce advocate for tougher gun laws in Congress.

Families in Arizona’s Second Congressional District have seen first hand the tragedy of gun violence and the lasting effects it has on a community. After the shooting in 2011, Kirkpatrick re-evaluated her position on gun laws, and has voted in Congress in support of stronger gun laws.

Kirkpatrick has co-sponsored legislation to strengthen background checks, prevent guns from getting into the hands of those convicted of domestic violence, and end the ban on gun violence research. The NRA has never given her money, and has consistently endorsed her opponents.

Kirkpatrick has been endorsed by leading gun violence prevention advocates, such as Gabby Giffords, Mark Kelly and Ron Barber.  The group Moms Demand Action has named her a “Gun Sense Candidate.” She received an F-Rating from the NRA Political Victory Fund.
